Night observation of tree islands

A painting by Eugeniusz Józefowski from the series NotRandom Stories.

The artist began work on this series in July 2024. He commissioned 35 painting supports measuring 150 × 110 cm, each 2 cm thick. He then purchased an inflatable pool large enough to fully submerge the canvases, which allowed him to employ a marbling technique. While observing the resulting effects, the artist wrote a set of imaginative exercises for himself—designed as walks inward, into the self. Before beginning work on each painting, he would embark on such an imagined walk in search of inspiration. Only then did he proceed with traditional painting. The realization of the entire project took one year and three months.
