Understanding oneself as a part of nature means, for the subject, <\/em><\/p>\n

perceiving themselves as eternal,\u00a0i.e. vulnerable and ephemeral at the same time. <\/em><\/p>\n

This presupposes, however, taking into account the temporal dimension: what we are, <\/em><\/p>\n

depends on the things that were before us and on those that will be there when we’re gone.<\/em><\/p>\n
