Edyta Purzycka (1968)

Graduate of the Academy of Arts & Design in Wrocław. Diploma in 1996 in printmaking under the supervision of Professor Halina Pawlikowska, annex in painting and photography. In 1995-96 she received a scholarship from the Minister of Culture and Art. Since 1997, she has been a member of the Association of Polish Artists and Designers. She created the graphic design for the student monthly magazine “Maska”, and later for the art quarterly magazine “Format”. She has collaborated with the literary and artistic magazine “Rita Baum” and the School Publishing House PWN. In 2001, the TIKKUN Publishing House published a volume of poetry by the German poet Peter Gehrisch with prints by Edyta Purzycka. In her works, she uses several intaglio techniques (etching, aquatint, soft varnish, ink spatter), which allows for textural experiments and painting effects. She lives and works in Wrocław.
