We are very pleased to invite you to the exhibition of painting by Eugeniusz Minciel, which we are launching during the European Night of Museums, on Saturday the 20th of May 2017. On that day, our gallery will be open from noon until midnight, yet the official opening of the exhibition and meeting with the artist will take place at 8pm.
The exhibition will be open from 20 – 31 May.
EUGENIUSZ MINCIEL (1958)
In 1980-85 he studied at the Faculty of Painting, Graphic Arts and Sculpture, at the State High School of Art (currently The Eugeniusz Geppert Academy of Art and Design) in Wrocław. He received diploma cum laude in the painting studio of professor Wanda Gołkowska and in years 1984-89 he worked as a graduate assistant there.
His works have been presented in over 60 solo exhibitions in Poland and abroad. He has participated in the most important generational exhibitions in the country, such as Road and Truth; 1st National Young Art Biennial in Wrocław; The Radical Ralism – Concrete Abstractionism in The National Museum in Warsaw in 1987; Freshly Painted in CBWA Zachęta in Warsaw in 1988; Scouting – Painting of the 1990s in Bunkier Sztuki in Cracow in 1996; Apogee – new expression in CSW Toruń in 2011; Generation 80 in The National Museum in Cracow in 2010-11.
His works can be found in the collections of The National Museum in Wrocław and The National Museum in Warsaw. In 2009, he became the laureate of the EXIT award, for the consistent – ongoing for 25 years, creative process of accentuating of what was, is and will be unique in the painting – the trace of human genius in perceiving he world and oneself.
