Understanding oneself as a part of nature means, for the subject,
perceiving themselves as eternal, i.e. vulnerable and ephemeral at the same time.
This presupposes, however, taking into account the temporal dimension: what we are,
depends on the things that were before us and on those that will be there when we’re gone.
