Rafał Nowak ()

A sculptor and graduate of the Academy of Fine Arts in Poznań. He received his diploma with distinction in 2000 from the Sculpture Studio of Professor Józef Kopczyński.

His work has been presented in numerous solo and group exhibitions in Poland, including in Poznań, Wrocław, Bydgoszcz, Gdynia, and Orońsko, as well as internationally in Austria, Germany, France, and Canada. He is the recipient of multiple artistic awards, including the Artistic Award of the City of Poznań.

He is the author of significant public space projects, particularly sculptures and monuments of a historical and symbolic character. His most important works include the Mars Fountain in the Old Market Square in Poznań, the Freedom Fountain in Liberty Square in Poznań, and the sculpture of Ignacy Jan Paderewski in front of the Aula of the Academy of Music in Poznań. He is also the creator of a group of historical sculptures in Gniezno depicting, among others, Bolesław the Brave, Mieszko II, Bolesław the Bold, Przemysł, and Wenceslaus.

His oeuvre also includes commemorative plaques in Poznań Cathedral (Mieszko II and Casimir the Restorer), monuments to General Taczak in Mieszkowo and the Koźlarz in Zbąszyń, a monument to Irena Kwiatkowska, as well as numerous commemorative, portrait, and sepulchral sculptural works, including a bust of Witold Pilecki, The Little Prince sculpture, and various tomb and funerary monuments.
