We are very happy to invite you to the opening of Barbara Trzybulska’s solo show called “Arka botanica”.
The exhibition is inspired by the book ‘The Plant Hunters’ by Michael Tyler-Whittle, which is full of fascinating stories of botanists, enthusiasts, and gatherers who, often risking their lives, discovered and described unknown plant species. At the same time, it is a story of expansion, appropriation, and human greed. The initial love for the plant world and its riches turns into its gradual destruction and exploitation. The hope remains that history will come full circle and after we are gone, it will be beautiful again, the nature will persevere.
Barbara is a graduate of the Faculty of Ceramics and Glass at the Eugeniusz Geppert Academy of Art and Design in Wrocław, she received her diploma under the guidance of Krystyna Cybińska in 1995. Author of ceramic paintings, sculptures and installations. She has participated in a number of exhibitions, plein-air workshops and symposia in Poland and abroad.
