She is an artist who has been present in our gallery for over twenty years. She was born in Warsaw. Since 1976 he has lived and worked in Stockholm. Works in painting and printmaking. Takes part in group exhibitions and participates in art fairs. Her works are in public and private collections, including the SAS/LIN Art Collection, the Art Museum in Łódź, the National Museum in Poznań, the Museum of Contemporary Art in Skopje, Tetra-Pac in the USA, the National Museum in Cracow, the International Portrait Gallery in Toulouse.

Does Danka Jaworska always paint the same picture? Is it an endless and evolving painting experiment? For several decades now, the central character of her paintings has been a woman, outlined rather vaguely, often faceless, in motion or still, dressed in voluminous gowns, sometimes lace or a headpiece. Her paintings are rich in colour, texture and painterly gestures, timeless, combining classical motifs and modern form.

On the Night of the Museums, 18.05 our gallery will be open for you from 12:00 to 24:00.

We invite you to the opening of the exhibition and a meeting with the artist at 19:00.

The exhibition will be open from 18 May to 3 June 2024.
