FOREIGN BODY

Katarzyna Krej
6-21 March 2026
Galeria M

FOREIGN BODY is an exhibition of glass sculptures and objects by Katarzyna Krej, focusing on the relationship between the body and the psyche and on the experience of embodiment. Its point of departure lies in biological structures—tissues, fragments of organs, elements removed from or introduced into the body—treated as metaphors for processes in which the corporeal is reflected in the psyche, and vice versa. The exhibition reflects on the relationship between what is internal and concealed and what becomes revealed and exposed to view.

The works presented open a new field of formal and conceptual exploration in Krej’s practice. In comparison with her earlier works, a distinct shift becomes visible: the introduction of warm colours—reds and yellows—and a move away from disciplined, closed, or organically soft forms towards irregular, torn, and jagged shapes. The glass sculptures evoke tissues and anatomical elements seen in magnification. The hard, cool, and fragile medium is used here to speak of softness and vulnerability.

Encountering this glass is a compelling experience, further intensified by the mode of display. The objects function both individually and in clusters and swarms, entering into spatial relationships with one another. Placed on black, polished glass surfaces, they are multiplied through reflection, which affects their perception and amplifies their visual impact. What matters here is not only form itself, but also how the objects respond to light, exist in proximity, and engage the viewer.

The exhibition opening and a meeting with Katarzyna Krej will take place on Friday, March 6, 2026 at 7:00 PM – you are warmly invited.

The exhibition will be open from 6-21.03.2026.
