LIKE YOURSELVES

We are extremely glad to see Katarzyna Frankowska taking over our gallery again. Last year’s graduate of the Eugeniusz Geppert Academy of Art and Design in Wrocław, painter, performer, a dandy with the prettiest smile in town. You could have seen her work at us, in M_DS Gallery, in Wrocław Contemporary Museum or even Machina Organika, where they were showing her childhood drawings. Last year she participated in the 7th National Exhibition of the Best Diplomas of the Academies of Fine Art 2015 in Gdańsk.

Katarzyna Frankowska about the exhibition:
LIKE YOURSELVES show presents the works chosen from different periods of my life. It seems to me that all the paintings are mine. At least, I accept them the way they are. Not all of them have been conceived in ecstasy, yet all are a result of some influence. Juxtapositioning my childhood drawings with sketches and paintings of my adult years, I am trying to give them a new, different meaning. I am observing them, checking if they get on together. They are a bit joyful. They are a bit sad. They are exactly the way I’ve deserved. I like them.

During the Night of Museums 2016 Galeria M will be open from noon until midnight. The opening of the exhibition and a great opportunity to meet Katarzyna will take place at 6pm.

The exhibition will be open from 14 – 24 May.
